Manchester United have received a transfer blow in their pursuit of Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga.
That is according to French outlet Foot Mercato who report the 18-year-old has made his desire to join Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain known to his representatives, although it’s also said that the player’s agent would prefer him to move to United this summer.
Camavinga, who is now into the final year of his contract at Rennes, has been regularly linked with a switch to United across the transfer window and the MEN understands that Old Trafford chiefs would prefer to sign a midfielder over a full-back before deadline day.
This isn’t the first time details have emerged claiming that Camavinga wants to join PSG over United though, and previous reports suggested any transfer for the youngster would materialise towards the end of summer, with Rennes willing to cash in.

Real Madrid are also said to be interested in Camavinga, who made 39 appearances across all competitions last season.
Meanwhile,. with former United centre-forward Romelu Lukaku close to securing a transfer to Chelsea, Inter Milan are looking to replace the Belgian and reports have surfaced claiming the Serie A champions view Anthony Martial as a potential candidate for such a move.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has gone as far as to claim dialogue has began between United and Inter, but that crucially those talks aren’t advanced at this stage, while reports elsewhere have hinted that the Reds would be open to a £50m offer for the forward.
Martial, 25, joined United in 2015 for £36m but the Frenchman has perhaps failed to live up to the high expectations his arrival brought.
The Telegraph say United have no intention of selling Martial, though.
