Last year, YouTuber Alaska to Africa hunted down Clarkson’s Lancia Beta Coupe and James May’s Mercedes used on the show. The cars were found rotting in fields with the YouTuber promising he would look into buying the cars and returning them to their former glory.
“Right now it’s just not happening, It’s a shame we found them in the middle of this pandemic.
“Hopefully one day all the planets will align and we will be able to get the car here and registered to Botswana for it to be exported somewhere where it can be restored.
“The problem isn’t the buyers, the problem is the legalities on this end and nothing is coming together.
“I wish I had more news for you guys but it’s still waiting in that field waiting to be restored.”
