Officers have arrested a man and seized cannabis, cash and weapons including an axe from a Merseyside house.
In a statement, Merseyside Police confirmed they received reports of a strong smell of cannabis at an address on Clipsley Lane, St Helens, at around 10.55pm on July 30.
Officers spoke to a male at the address in Haydock who stated that he had recently smoked cannabis and following a search of the property officers, recovered a large amount of cannabis and a significant amount of cash.

An axe was also recovered at the address, as well as another weapon believed to be an airsoft rife.
The force said a 42-year-old man from Haydock was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs, but has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
In a statement, Merseyside Police said: “We arrested a man and seized cannabis, cash and weapons at an address in Haydock on Friday (30 July).
“At around 10.55pm police on patrol received a report of a strong smell of cannabis at an address on Clipsley Lane.
“Officers spoke to a male at the address who stated that he had recently smoked cannabis.
“Following a search of the property officers recovered a large amount of cannabis and a significant amount of cash.

“An axe and another weapon, believed to be an airsoft rife, were also recovered at the address.
