Harry Kane did not turn up for Tottenham training on Monday morning, sparking speculation his absence was fuelled by a desire to force through a move to Manchester City.
England striker Kane had been on holiday following his exploits at Euro 2020, where he captained the side to the final before they were defeated by Italy on penalties.
Due to return to training this morning ahead of the new season, the 28-year-old did not turn up.
But as the football world reacted to that news, some Manchester United fans were quick to draw comparisons to their own saga and come to the defence of one of their own stars.
Paul Pogba has often been criticised publicly for perceived attitude problems and wanting to leave Old Trafford in the past, and United fans want to know if the general reaction would have been different had it been Pogba who didn’t attend training.
Pogba is expected to return to training himself on Monday with United, amid speculation over a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
